Sepid Div

Div-e Sepid (Farsi: دیو سپید "White Div") was the chieftain of the divs of Mazandaran. He possessed great physical strength and was skilled in sorcery and necromancy. He destroyed the army of Kay Kavus by conjuring a dark storm of hail, boulders, and tree trunks using his magical skills. He then captured Kay Kavus, his commanders, and paladins; blinded them, and imprisoned them in a dungeon. The hero Rostam undertook his "Seven Labors" to free his sovereign. At the end, Rostam slayed Div-e Sepid and used his heart and blood to cure the blindness of the king and the captured Persian heroes. Rostam also took the Div's head as a helmet and is often pictured wearing it.

In the Shabrangnama it is revealed that the white div sired a son.

The White Dev (Armenian: Սպիտակ Դև) is present in Hovhannes Tumanyan's tale "Yedemakan Tzaghike" (Armenian: Եդեմական Ծաղիկը, "The Flower of Paradise"). In the tale, the Dev is the flower's guardian.

According to The Georgian Chronicles (Georgian: ქართლის ცხოვრება) it was the chief of the Lek, descendant of Khozanos son of Lekos, and a sorcerer who blinded K'ekapos (Kay Kavus) and his soldiers.

A "Deo-Safed" also appears in the story of Prince Saiful Malook and Badri Jamala (Urdu: سیف الملوک اور بدیع الجمال).
